Missions not showing up

I recently downloaded the skirmisher, but when I finished I went to the mod part of Nexus, but my mission wouldn't show up.

I read the other topic with this problem, but it didn't help me out.

So, I need a better understanding of how to have my missions show up?

If you clicked on "Create mission" and started the correct Nexus mod (with default Skirmisher settings it would be the "NEXUS Skirmisher" mod), you should be able to see the mission.

I can only imagine a problem with administrative privileges, if you're using Windows Vista or Windows 7 and if you've installed Nexus into "C:Program Files" or "C:Program Files (x86)", if you've got a 64-bit OS. These folders are being protected by Windows against unwanted manipulations, which could prevent the Skirmisher from actually saving any files. However, I actually just tested this on my own Windows 7 machine and had no problems.

Do me a favor and create a quick sample mission. Use the settings below and click on "Create Mission". If that still doesn't show up when starting the "NEXUS Skirmisher" mod, then please search your hard drive(s) for a file called "99_test.mission" and tell me, where you've found it or if you didn't find it at all.

Sorry, Didn't notice I put this in the wrong forum untill I was done.

   Anyways, it didn't show up in the 'Mod' Section again, and my search didn't come up with anything named 99_test.mission, and several other related searches.
I do have Vista, though, maybe that might make a problem?

Shouldn't be... I've had Vista before and the Skirmisher was running fine back then. Where do you have the game installed? "C:Program Files" or somewhere else?

That's pretty odd, actually. Never had someone complain about such a problem. So just to make sure, everything else is fine on your end:

1) You create the mission using the Skirmisher like above and hit "Create mission"


2) You start Nexus and start the mod you selected in the Skirmisher (in this case: "NEXUS Skirmisher")


3) You arrive at the mission-select screen of the game and you don't see your previously created mission in the list (like mission "test" in the following screenshot)

Please have a look at your Nexus folder and see, if there's the modsNEXUS Skirmisherconfig.ini. What does it say about "Mod Name" and "Mod Directory"? Furthermore, are there NO files in modsNEXUS Skirmisheruniversemod_missions?

No, I don't even have the 'Nexus Skirmisher' show up once I double click Nexus and that first menu pops up.
It's in program file, but in  the mod section there are no mods called 'Nexus skirmisher'. Would having bought it from steam make a difference or not?

I don't know, haven't heard of any such problems before.

Could be an installation issue with the Skirmisher, if the NEXUS Skirmisher mod doesn't even show up. Where did the "NEXUS Skirmisher.exe" end up? It should be directly in your Nexus folder. Maybe try installing the Skirmisher again, using the zip from my download page (not the installer). Extract the contents of that zip to your Nexus folder, which regarding Steam should be in the Steam folder steamappscommonnexus - the jupiter incident or something like that ("NEXUS Skirmisher.exe" needs to be in the same folder "nexus.exe" is in). Then start "nexus.exe" and open the "Modifications" menu to confirm, that "NEXUS Skirmisher" is in the mod list (hopefully):

Thanks, reinstalling with the zip seemed to help it.
 I already tested it, everything seems fine and dandy. Again, thanks for the help.
