I just re-realized how much fun it is... after going through my old mods...

I hope you guys remember me, glad to see this community is still somewhat active for a nearly dead game.

Hey there Cam,

Always good to see the old faces back. Been up to much?

Thanks, you guys have always been helpful =P

Not much, but I am going for a Bachelors degree in Software Engineering, so maybe one day I'll get to really help you guys...

Reverse engineering Nexus, anyone? XD

Edit:

Incidentally, do you guys remember if the mission "Alpha Gate" has the battleship Guardian availible in your fleet? I cannot remember for the life of me, and I've been changing the rules files to have 999 resource points in every ship and want to know if I somehow screwed something up.

Playing on the medium difficulty...

If you mean the mission where the Noah-Earth gate has to be checked upon in the 5th episode, the answer is no.
It only joins you in the next mission, where the converted Vardrag ships attempt to cross the Beta gate and convert the Starportal in the proces.

Yeap, thanks that was it.

Heh, I'm rediscovering old problems I solved before and didn't save...

What files/entries are related to projectiles? I keep thinking I have all of the related files transferred to my mod and the projectile I want still doesn't show up -_-

Hey Cam,

What kind of projectiles are you referring to? Mass drivers, torpedoes, missiles, etc.

Its from another mod, its a type of plasma weapon... Like the Magma, Volcano, Nova PGs

What I did was I found its name in tacticstypes, searched said name, iterations of the name, found all of the relevant entries and everything and copied + pasted to the same files in my mod.

I either didn't copy them all (doubtful) or aren't linked correctly. I have a really logistical mind and I must MUST understand how things relate to eachother and how they are linked in order to completely understand something...

Well, you can find most of game effects at universe/engine/efx.ini (or mod_efx.ini which adds new effects but permits original effects to be used). Third number in Start/Travel/End line at tacticstypes is the number of exact effect at efx.ini file. So, you need to take desired effect from efx.ini and then add its number to your weapon.
