Awesome! Hopefully Arparso can send a message to all users, and give 'em a memo.

I pledged $250, and will not do what I did with the Games-Plant initiative. Ever again.

"Hell, it's about time!"

Backed this for 20 bucks... hopefully it will succeed this time.
But to be honest... tough a die-hard-fan of the game I'm sceptical of this path due to the high fund goal :/

I just contributed to the kickstarter myself.  I've been waiting for the kickstarter to go live for a good while now and it was fun to finally get involved.  I can't wait for this game to be made but I guess I have to. They're estimating December 2013? That might as well mean early 2014.  *sigh*
It will be fun if as fans get to offer suggestions and see the build as it progresses.

One of the tech/gaming blogs needs to do a story on this kickstarter.

I wonder who's the backer wishing to see his face ingame.  ;D

Edit: more to point, I wonder who the backer is wishing to become a hero.  :o

Ok, ladies and gentlepeople. We have just posted an update on the KS page. I will spill it to you though. First of all we have decided to support OSX for the game. Secondly I will be doing an AMA tomorrow on Reddit. By popular request. Please check the full update on Kickstarter!

Well, i must say that there is very little effort from the dev's part to make this project known.
I stumbled across it by accident through a different forum.
Now only 63 hours to go and not enough money.
They should restart the KS project and do a better job of promoting it.

As far as I understand, they did reach out to a huge bunch of different sites and magazines... which just ignored the story and didn't even bring a small news article about it. After all, it IS tough to stand out on Kickstarter, when you don't just happen to be called Tim Schafer or Chris Roberts.

Another big problem is: they don't really have much to show us. Sure, there's the old tech demo video from 2005... but they'll be using totally different tech now (Unreal Engine, to be precise) and the game probably wouldn't look anything like that old video. Looking at other successful Kickstarter project, they often have at least some prototypes to show or even actual alpha footage demonstrating the gameplay principles. Just look at something like Star Citizen: sure, first and foremost it has the "Chris Roberts" celebrity-bonus, from the godfather of all space-action games... but they also have a really impressive tech demo showing off gorgeous graphics and early gameplay...

Now I don't know what the Nexus team would need to do. In order to show something impressive, they'd need to start on the game. To start on the game, they need money, however, and to get this money, they should have something impressive to show. Just a really bad situation the project is currently in.

Still very very sad to see this Kickstarter fail even harder than the earlier Games-plant fundraiser did. :(
