Tacticstype tool Database

I was thinking. Is it possible to make a Tacticstypes Database Tool for windows like nexus skirmisher? Make it a database program: add, edit, delete, and save/load.

Sure, it'd be possible. You can already achieve the same thing by using the Excel spreadsheet provided by the game's mod tools, though (found under "mod_tools\docs\Nexus Tactics.xls"). It includes a macro, which exports the data to a usable tacticstypes.ini. I also ported it to OpenOffice, if you're using that instead of Microsoft Office: TacticsTypes.ini OpenOffice spreadsheet

At least that's what I use... manually hand-editing the .ini is way too cumbersome for larger mods and you quickly lose track of all the stuff that's in there. Using the spreadsheet works much better in that case.

I want to be able edit the text of the entries of the same device. Editing both the device data and texts at the same time. Group the weapons together for display. A simple saved file that sorts weapons by type in the display, but not changing the order in the tacticstype file. Custom sorting like phaser1,2,3 grouped together in tabs. Make it easy to compare weapon damage and energy usage among devices.

I edited the tacticstype file directly. So, I would have to enter all the data over again.
