Please delete this thread and post it in the off topic section.

Otherwise, what have you to say about Nexus: The Jupiter Incident, or of its sequel in limbo?

Those two topics are valid on this sub-forum. Not complaints.

You should look into Nexus:Battlestar Galactica mod.

Located here, & here:
•http://www.ivassago.com/nexusbsg/

Since it is the 4.1 (latest, as of June 21, 2013) version, you're going to want Arparso's Lighting Patch http://arparso.de/nexus/forum/index.php/topic,116.msg991.html#msg991

Download the .zip file. Unzip it with a program called "rar" it's a very simple find on Google.

P.S. - The best visuals you'll see, ever.

Until Nexus 2 comes out with Unreal Engine 4.

Awesome! Hopefully Arparso can send a message to all users, and give 'em a memo.

I pledged $250, and will not do what I did with the Games-Plant initiative. Ever again.

General Gaming / Blacksun Engine -- DirectX vs. Open GL
« on: August 31, 2011, 03:41:36 »
With the Blacksun Engine having been upgraded, (I hope) looking like a brand new Shiny apple, do you think the developers (Most Wanted Entertainment ere Mithis, are going to stay Windows Vista/7/8 only?

I would really hope that they branch out to the Mac, and if not. By staying Windows only, they BETTER release a touchscreen (tablet, All-in-One Touchscreen Desktop) compatible Windows 8 version! At least rereleasing Nexus One in a touch-friendly form!

So what would you want guys? A superb, Magnifisent well developed version being Windows only?
Or a possibly buggy, not-completely-finished Windows release, but with multi-platform compatibility, i.e. Mac OS X, Android, WebOS, and Windows Phone support.

Which one?

Anyways! To my original topic, maybe not related to OpenGL directly, but DirectX. Through the various improvements from DirectX 10, and 11, what can we expect to see from DirectX 10, and 11 alone?

I've heard of:
•"Tesselation" (think of FINNALY meaningful, actual Anti-Ailiasing.
•"multi-threaded resource handling" (Video games (developers) being able to expertly make use of multi-core CPU's (and maybe GPU's too?)

Those are the two things that I know for sure are going to be implemented in Nexus 2.

Your responses?

Patch 1.01 for North America EN is the latest build.

From the Fexus 2 Funding Site,

Quote
Spaceship Component System
Spaceships can now be composed of many different parts, allowing for powerful modular ships that can separate and recombine in different ways, and massive space stations which must be destroyed piece-by-piece.

Would that possibly mean that if one were to design a Basestar (Battlestar Galactica Universe) for example, would one of its "arms" be sever-able?

Or, if you designed a really big ship could you ram a smaller ship into it? Or would the physics, and all that particle stuff be too much, and melt your graphics card?

I think with No. 02, you just double-click on any fighter that has been launched.

But you can not control a fighter squadron by sending them wherever. You can either tell them to attack a ship, or defend a particular ship, or defend the whole fleet.

Mod Development / Released Mods / Re: Andromeda Mod...
« on: August 28, 2011, 05:02:23 »
Have you started a MODDB page?

Every single modder hear is VERY busy with the mod that they themselves are committed to.

So for now, start a Mod Group and just hope that other people will help you in your endeavour.

Go to modding gaming sites and Andromeda fansites, and ask for mod support.

I really think that Andromeda was too short a series, like the FOX threatened to cancel every season, but they producers/writers, just managed to turn on a dime and fix the situation...

Thank you for undertaking this Project.

May the Gods of Kobol guide you on your journey.

Help / Technical Support / Re: Nexus:TJI on modern systems
« on: August 28, 2011, 00:42:52 »
Also, i'm wondering about Graphics Cards, and, RAM, and CPU's...

And WHY exactly the Nexus: BSG lags up!

I have a Pentium D 2.8Ghz CPU
nVidia 6800 GPU
& (in a couple days, 2GB RAM, from 1GB)

So what's up with the lag? Is my system too outdated?

Is it a Gaame Bug? A Mod Bug? Or a Skirmisher Bug?

Is it the Flack? Or the fighters that make this slowdown?

Help / Technical Support / Nexus:TJI on modern systems
« on: August 27, 2011, 21:27:04 »
Does Nexus have any issue's with modern graphics cards? Or perticular versions of Windows??

Can it support Dual GPU's? Because i've heard that dual core CPU's are not supported. Is this true?

Hey Mazry, talk to Jstubbles.

I think he's figured out how to enable the "healing" ability for the Baseships...

Is that what you're on about?

General Discussion / Re: Things to ask the devs about Nexus 2
« on: August 26, 2011, 16:03:15 »

(But i have inside information. And the minimum i can say is that we have sold more than one million copies.)

Say again? And even with that amount of copies sold no production house wanted to take up a sequel?
[/quote]

Nexus:TJI/N2 are a niche genre, as well as the feasabliity of working in viable Multiplayer play, it doesn't matter if we (by we I mean us, community, Dev's and all) even sold 2.5+ million copies...

Space-Sims, don't work.. Money wise.

Not even EA was willing to pull the trigger. Plus all those damned concessions, frak that!

No. 01 = We will not be told until near release launch to add to the Wow factor of the video game.

No. 02 = An HD/2.0 version is minimally in the works. Nothing concrete yet. Source Code? No. Never.

No. 03, & 04, = No comment.

No. 05 = Talks haven't started yet.

No. 06, & 07 = All will be Relieved. (in time...)

No. 08 = Working that out now...

No. 09 = No. Not going to happen.

No. 10 = No comment

If we were to have the chance to share our thoughts, I'd want to know:

•If the game could be touchscreen compatible? i.e. Tablet PC's (Windows 8, iOS, WebOS)

•What has the team done to make Multiplayer play more enticing?

•What have you upgraded in Blacksun Engine, and what couldn't you expand upon? (Ship Count, Hardpoints, etc.)

Is Vice Admiral Aurthor Norbank still with us? :) (I loved him!)
