Help / Technical Support / Re: Nexus Skirmisher SP Settings
« on: February 16, 2012, 02:34:36 »
Hi MindlessSpark,

Do you mean that you've made your own mod?
In that case:

1. name your mod: eg. MindlessSparkMod.
2. place mod in the folder mod of the main nexus folder: c\programfiles\Nexus - The Jupiter Incident\mods.
3. start the awesome Arparso' app Nexus Skirmisher.
4. in general options select your mod.
5. if needed you can change the other options.
6. create mission
7. start Nexus
8. choose modifications
9. select the name of your mod.

I hope this helps.
Blazar he is talking about one of the mods that installs with the skirmisher. He made a mission for it.

Whenever i try to make a mission with skirmisher SP selected as the mod, the game starts up a new campaing window, and i cant access the missions ive made. anyone else have this problem?
Have you installed any sort of campaign modifications?
Have you unpacked your Nexus .dat files?

From memory there was a similar issue recently where reinstalling the game fixed this same issue, if neither of the above is true then you might try a reinstall.

2:does the game use directx x9 if so how do i enable it
3:Is there a grapics mod for the game?as the rocks in space look weard on my game
Thank you all ;)

1: I'm not sure on that one.
2: The game will automatically run in Dx9 if your computer supports it.
3: There's a few graphics mods out there, like Mine for example, though it only supports mods right now as I haven't had time to pack it into a DAP. I would look around over Here.

Scripting / Re: Question on Devices
« on: November 17, 2011, 05:55:34 »
If you use devices you can't change the devices in the campaign or multiplayer fleet config screens, if you use defdevices you can change the device out for something else.

While I remember that the angelwing is supposed to gain power every time it's hit, it doesn't have the absorb value so if it does have that ability it must be hardcoded. I did see that the angel-mechanoid that you gain later in the game had the absorb value so it might be related to that being hit.

It sounds interesting, I'm fine with it being there if others are.

Also, won't this kill vipers and raiders as well?

Yeah it'll blow up anything launched like a missile or fighter.

General Discussion / Re: Where are the saved games?
« on: July 06, 2011, 00:50:03 »
They ought to be in your nexus install folder under "save\[Insert Campaign Name Here]" with a file name along the lines of "__auto_12.sav"

Edit: NINJA'D  :o

Uh by new method I take it you mean wippien? I personally don't use it as I already have a ton of VPN programs around, and adding wippien caused a few of mine to start conflicting. Though if you have Tunngle(Around 256 people per room) or Hamachi I'd love to play.

As for time zone it'd be PST(GMT +8, Pacific standard time) and I'll play both PVP and CO-OP.

You could always use an SVN like I do, but of course you'd likely want one on assembla or some other place that lets only certain people download it. Speaking of SVNs, I guess I need to make a new one because google won't give me a password reset  >:(.

Modding Tools / Re: [Tool] Tacticstype tool
« on: April 13, 2011, 07:17:27 »

EDIT: Damn... It seems the files in the SVN repository are outdated... they contain either the 2.1 or 2.0 version, not the 2.2 one... and I don't have the source files anymore...

Haha, don't you just love when that happens?

Either way I found the problem, I wasn't using the JDK I was only using the JRE. For whatever reason, it wanted the JDK instead of the JRE.

I have no idea why, but using this causes my display drivers to flip out on my new computer. It worked perfectly fine before.

I'm running Win7 Ult. x64 with a Sapphire Radeon 5770 if that helps you, I don't get any sort of crash report from the driver so I can't post much more than that.

Edit: Huh, it also seems to not even make the modified file, I'm thinking my java might be screwing up. I'll try updating that and report back.

Edit2: Well it wasn't that so now I have no clue what it might be, Minecraft works fine and so does every other java using thing I have.

Well, for me it mostly depends on what I'm coding and how tired I am. If I'm going to be coding for a while or I'm tired I generally listen to trance, techno, or metal. If I'm awake or don't need to go at the code for a long time it's normally some battle music, such as the tracks I've included in my mod. Though, sometimes silence works nicely to  ;)

Right now I'm pretty much able to any time(Though I am about to go to sleep), I had explained to sprint what sorts of times I'm normally around so I'll mostly be waiting to hear from him.

Being as it's close to the date you have down for the 2nd one, are we still going to try and do this?

Game Assets / Re: new ship
« on: April 06, 2011, 02:17:45 »
Try removing the serial line from your new ships, or remove NDF from the line either one might fix it. If not would you mind sending me your mod so I can check over your files?

On a side note: The serial line will do nothing unless your ship has the special texture for the serial to be displayed on the ship. So you won't need it unless you are setting that up.

I sadly, don't have any sort of cell phone currently, and my PSP wasn't charged so I couldn't hop on that to do it either  :-\.  However, sprint you could have still replied to my messages you know..

Geez, I told him beforehand that my schedule changes rapidly and that I might not be able to make it. Sorry to say but life stuff comes before game stuff so I guess I won't be show in any episodes if hes going to be this way.

I haven't been able to get sprint to talk to me since last week, is he mad that I was unable to be there or something? I just don't like how he completely stopped speaking to me.

Edit: On a side note, I'm likely to not be around to much for the next few weeks.

Mod Development / Released Mods / Re: CEP mod for Nexus
« on: March 19, 2011, 01:01:20 »
The things on the moddb page are still pretty outdated, but basically the player is part of a decent sized pirate group. That's where those extra fleets come from, but I did write the original idea up at 4am last year so that's the main reason for some things not fitting right.

Edit: Haha, after looking back at the MODDB page and my current mission plans the story on MODDB only applys to 4 missions. Also, there was another reason I mentioned my mod maybe being part of the CEP. I had intended to use the .dap file myself so when people finished the nexus campaign it would just continue on to mine, and with this method I wouldn't have to pack the whole nexus universe folder in with the mod. I also didn't exactly want people to have to constantly swap between the .dap files, as it gets very annoying to do that after a while.

I've been thinking, with the story I have for my mod would there not be a possibility of it being part of the added missions?

I personally think it could defiantly fit in if we do the missions right, and we wouldn't need the original voices for it to work either. My mod currently uses a lot of content that came with nexus so it wouldn't make the project to large, I'm also planning on introducing that race that never really got used(Talking of the Feher stuff, it looks like the white ships did to me). It just keeps bugging me in the back of my head so, anyone else think it might work out? Of course I'm welcome to ideas as to what might get changed with my mod, and I think new players might enjoy it. I'm going to be putting up the updated story on the MODDB page sooner or later.

How would the 18th of March work for everyone? Or the weekend of the 18th? (March)

I'll be here just about any day except for possibly being gone anywhere from the 20th to the 23rd. My birthday is on the 21st so I'll likely be gone, I'm also likely to be gone a lot in April(Lots of birthdays and places to go this time of the year).

Just to be sure, I'm in California(USA) so my timezone is -8 GMT or PST. Insure you keep that in mind, though I'm normally on anytime from 2PM to 6AM.

Oh, and shouldn't this get moved? This being a non-nexus area, I don't think something about a nexus podcast would be here  :-\

Not that I mind personally, but I foresee people missing it if it's down here.

Hm, I should have guessed my mod hasn't made it's way around the whole community  :P. Anyways, I be the one making War of The Damned (Found here http://www.moddb.com/mods/nexus-war-of-the-damned)

Heh I got to give that a try later, sounds fun. I imagine if your good at using a tablet you can move your stuff really fast, might be interesting fun in a multiplayer game.
