Its from another mod, its a type of plasma weapon... Like the Magma, Volcano, Nova PGs

What I did was I found its name in tacticstypes, searched said name, iterations of the name, found all of the relevant entries and everything and copied + pasted to the same files in my mod.

I either didn't copy them all (doubtful) or aren't linked correctly. I have a really logistical mind and I must MUST understand how things relate to eachother and how they are linked in order to completely understand something...

Heh, I'm rediscovering old problems I solved before and didn't save...

What files/entries are related to projectiles? I keep thinking I have all of the related files transferred to my mod and the projectile I want still doesn't show up -_-

Not much, but I am going for a Bachelors degree in Software Engineering, so maybe one day I'll get to really help you guys...

Edit:

Incidentally, do you guys remember if the mission "Alpha Gate" has the battleship Guardian availible in your fleet? I cannot remember for the life of me, and I've been changing the rules files to have 999 resource points in every ship and want to know if I somehow screwed something up.

Playing on the medium difficulty...

Already answered two of my questions, ( I forgot how to make the NPC's show up in the ship's little box). Since I already remember the gist of the tacticstypes editing and efx editing I probably wont have a huge amount of more questions. thx a lot.

EDIT

How do you make things allied to you? How do you make already damaged/disabled ships? How do you script it to come over to your side after interaction with a Commando squad?

Well, instead of making a ton of topics for my questions, ill just make one. My first question.

Finally figured out how to do dialouge (I initially planned for people who played my mod to read a notepad file for backstory between/ending missions) Now it'll be much smoother.

It's all fine and dandy but how do you get it to say the name of the ship & person speaking on the dialouge box? Now it currently says ? ? ?

Well, im back after a long dormancy.

I've decided to mod Nexus again. Most of you probably dont remember me but I had a lot of noob help a while ago. Im going to remake my "Raptor War" and hopefully learn a bit more and make my missions less uniform (a few ship fleet destructions, followed by station, repeat)

Any new great mods/ships/stuff I should know about? I honestly thought you all died and so did Nexus and it would never be coming back but looking at this forum makes me so happy.

I want to know how to add more points for the strike craft to come out. Im using the public shipyard's Pirate Enclave base (already made the tacticstype quite well). Let me tell you something, lol. Launching 16 squadrons of raptor GB's 1 by 1 is VERY slow. How would I add more points for them to come out?

Im working on my mod "The Raptor War" Since I believe raptors were REALLY left out in the major part of the campaign, they only had like 2 missions for them and I found them interesting. It centers on Captain Marvin J. Orphelia's rebellion against Vardrag-NDF forces for the right of self-government. There are also skirmishes with the Gorgs because your basically pushing them out of their lands (Herlas, Rhegatis and that other one)

I'm trying to find the names of the people who made some of the content i used, so I can release my mod to the public.

Ah, I see now. Thanks. They work now and well too. I got my desired effect.

Two of the M.A.C. cannons take up my entire firestorm generator (on a NDF battleship) IF (thats a big IF) they hit, they de-shield a cruiser in about 3 hits. Not too uber, would you say? They dont hit really very often. I plan on making a Super MAC to mount on stations and special weapon platforms.

I also plan on making my first custom Weapon generator.

EDIT: Where's that old topic from the old forum that outlines all the entries of tacticstypes .ini?

EDIT EDIT: I think I did it perfectly now. A single M.A.C. takes up 150% of the top cruiser power gen. Three of them on my heaviest battleship with the custom reactor (output of 200) also takes up 150%. Now for the Super MACs...

ALSO: Who made New Conflicts and Spacetech:Reprise. Where can I contact them? I used some of their stuff in my mod (because it was so well made!)

No, i got my own mod with like... 20 missions. Its not a campaign menu type of thing, its just the mission selector.

How do you know which effect links to what tacticstypes entry? because I found a good effect and when I try to test it in game the effect doesnt show up...

thanks so much. Ima get on that right away, use a Nova PC as a base.

One more thing. Its about effects.

I need to make the plasma effect (you know that short yellowish thing) longer and a little wider. How'd I go about doing that?

Well, I've got an idea from halo. I want to make a M.A.C. Cannon. Its similar to our plasma cannons, except it obliterates shields in one hit, and hulls in two.

I want it to have slowwww reload, and I want it to use all the power of battleship/cruiser powerplants. I might make one for stations and weapon platforms too, you know, varying power requirements.

How would I do this? I mean, specifically about the power requirements. What sections would I change?

Spacetech Reprise, I use it for the base of my mods because it is so well made. I apologize if i offended anyone by doing this...
I cannot find it, and the download links i found with google are 404 dead link errors...

Would anyone have this? I am also searching desperately (and possibly futily) for The New Conflict... It was so great.

I dont think a 3d view would be nessecary, Mithis already did that for us with the mission editor.

What would be nice

* A way to put squads on the ships.
*Real device names instead of weap_ and supp_

Not sure if you remember me, I was on the original nexus forum since 2006 and was quite active...
