Title: Nexus Wiki
Post by: GeoModder on February 19, 2013, 17:05:49
So... who's actually administrator there? Just wondering because the WikiBots seem to have free reign there, and beside moving or deleting the content of spampages there's not much an 'editor' can do there.

Hey there Geo,

I periodically stop by go for a scout through the pages, curse the inconsiderate numpty's and then see what I can do about restoring the Nexus content.

Don't know if anyone else does though. Also miss them sometimes so if anyone finds a spammed link, post it here so it can be fixed. Would be much appreciated.

Regards,

The Old Dragon

At the moment, the Nexus content seems okay (made a few revisions last week IIRC). Kept myself a bit busy with deleting the content of spambot userpages this week.

I gather Arparso is the only one with admin powers over there? To delete spambots I mean?

Hmm, I'm not sure if anyone has 'admin' rights due the wiki's open nature. You don't need to log in to make changes so I don't know if there is anything we can do to stop the spam, just be vigilant and undo the rubbish as and when we find it.

Guess maintaining a wiki is kind of like a labour of love; unless someone knows differently, we'll just have to persevere.

Perseverance it is then...
Found (and fixed) at least five parameter pages which were "adjusted" by bots. No longer though... >:(

Things are really getting beyond control on the Wiki. I'm in the proces of deleting spampages and rerouting user/talk spampages, but these days there's literally several hundred new spam posts a day. And the amount of new bots 'registering' is steadily on the rise as well.
