Windowed Mode?
« on: May 04, 2010, 01:44:33 »
Does anyone know a way for me to play Nexus in Windowed Mode? Alt+Tab doesn't work for me when I want to multitask because whenever I try to come back to the game it just freezes...
Thanks...

Well, your best chance is to run the modding tools, particularly the mission editor.

you have to edit your registry settings for the game. Look for "Nexus - The Jupiter Incident". There are 3 settings you need to change.

Display_Height
Display_Width
Display_Mode

double click to edit them, then change  the "BASE" value to "DECIMAL" then enter your desired resolution for width and height. Set display mode to "2".

Nice! When forcefully windowed in such a manner, does the game window capture the mouse cursor, or can it freely move in and out?

you can move in and out without any issues at all - great for multitasking.
I just wish the engine would update in real time (ie; change a script, save and have it update as the game ran).

If you have trouble finding Nexus in your registry, have a look at the widescreen guide. It's pretty well hidden under Vista or Windows 7 ;)
