I'm so tired of these goddamn sites that before you sign up, u have to enter a captcha AND answer a stupid question to prove you're human.
what the hell is with this trend?
then, when u finally get the stupid captcha correct, u find out the correct answer to
"where does Nexus take place? in sp...
is not "ace" (the missing letters) but you have to spell out "space"
ok, 5 minutes to pass that stage, then my password has to be 8 or more letters.
Fer chrissake...u want me to choose something I'll remember, or something you'll remember?
On to the next part...once you make it through the obstacle course, the site doesn't automatically log you in, you have to do that yourself.
Only to find that the log in fails because you have to VERIFY your email first!
ok, so it took me 10 minutes to create an account here, and I had to pass through more security than going through the White House...
So where's all the gold you guys are hiding here?

The person who invented captcha should be thrown into a log chipper (scrambled enuf for ya?)
and the idiots who "secure" their sites right after them.

I feel your pain, mate, but these security measures have been put in place to combat the numerous spam posts appearing almost every day here on this forum before.
I have now deactivated the poor security question, but captcha entry and email verification will remain in place for anyone wanting to register an account here. It only needs to be done once and is normal procedure for most communities out there.
Regarding your password length: I'd advise you to read up on password security (e.g. here). In summary:
* never use the same password for multiple sites / accounts
* the longer your password, the better (at least 8 or more letters)
* don't use actual words or names for your passwords, but rather "random" combinations of letters, digits and symbols (and please not your birthdate!)
* for bonus points, change your passwords on a regular basis
I know it's inconvenient, but you shouldn't skimp on security.
