Changing music during briefings?
« on: June 30, 2011, 22:34:21 »
Anyone know how to change the music track during the briefing and/or fleet loadout part of a mission?

I've never done any campaign scripting, so I wouldn't know :(

As far as I could figure out, the first song in the sound.ini file music list is played during briefings, loadouts and such. So if you could from ingame switch the list sequence, it could work.
Or maybe not. I'm guessing once an .ini file is loaded, its impossible to tinker with the loaded content?

Well, no and no.
No, you can't change the contents of an .ini file dynamically.
And it's not the first song the one that's played, is the one called "menu_starmap.ogg", it doesn't matter where in the list that song is, it'll be played.
I guess that a small workarround would be to change that file so that's a mute sound, and that way there won't be any music at all.

Or you can somehow combine the two songs you want played into one file, and replace that one.
Just a thought :)
