Where did Sci-Fi go? (tv, cinema)

<< < (2/4) > >>

GeoModder:
Mmm... I consider Avatar not really "in space". I did like the movie though. ;)

I suppose the last rather good scifi stuff (in space thus) I've seen was Razor, a more or less standalone movie in the BSG series.

On Dr. Who, I never got the hang of it. And neither the derivate(s).

Mularac:
Well, Doctor Who does have some... repetitive notions, like most chapters are about the inpending destruction of Earth that is avoided in the last second and all that stuff, but in my opinion the acting is superb, especially the tenth doctor, David Tennant.
The effects aren't what you would consider top notch, but they're better than you'd expect, but what really appeals me about the series is their seamingless combination of drama and comedy in each chapter and the funny and well thought time paradoxes that appear most of the time (being the main character a time traveler that was to be expected)

And I won't deny that some episodes are pretty cheap and forgettable but there's a reason this series been running since the 60's. Perhaps you just didn't got lucky when you saw those episodes...

GeoModder:
I prefer my scifi more to the "Blake's Seven" kinda things then Dr. Who's endless plots.

Mularac:
Doctor Who is back and meaning business!
One of the best episodes of the series I've seen, and most certainly the best season opening I've laid eyes upon in a while...

DreamorCZ:
Good news people! Red Dwarf is coming back in 2012.
