This is mine:

1. Fallout2
2. Nexus: The Jupiter Incident
3. UFO: Enemy Unknown
4. Lost Vikings
5. Syndicate

PS: Frag, that is quite vintage list. Well, except that Nexus.

This is hard. Like, really impossibly hard. I suppose I've played hundreds of games since the early nineties, possibly even more - I seriously can't narrow it down to just the top 5, as there were so many great games!

I'll mention five titles I remember dearly and still consider them to be amongst the best I've played, but I won't number them and I wouldn't say, these are THE BEST... just AMONG THE BEST (my personal best, that is):

  • Outcast
  • Sam & Max Hit The Road
  • Wing Commander 4 - The Price Of Freedom
  • MechWarrior 3
  • Steel Battalion
Honorary mention goes to "Jurassic Park: Trespasser" - what a horribly buggy and downright terrible game it was, but chock-ful of all sorts of innovative features and unique gameplay mechanics for a 1998 game. It really was years ahead of its time and could have been a truly amazing game if given a proper amount of polish. I still love it, though.

Gotta agree with Arparso on that... too many 'good' games over the years to choose a handfull. Five of my most memorable (in no particular order)...

Baldurs Gate
Frontier 2:First Encounters (aka Elite 3)
WC4:The Price of Freedom
Nexus:TJI
Dragon Age: Origins

So many more that I really like as well, like the Mechwarrior series... or the old starwars games...

Yeah, I agree with you both, naming the top five is freaking hard. So I'm just gonna narrow it down basing myself in solely three attributes: how much fun I had playing them, how well made I think they were and how long I actually played them. Since I couldn't possible tell which one of these five is better than the one below, I'm just gonna name them withouth any sort of order whatsoever...

  • Fallout 2
  • Nexus: TJI
  • Freespace 2 and freespace 2 mods
  • Mount&Blade + mods
  • Civilization: Call to Power

Man, I still feel I need to list 10 more..
