Welcome to this board!

Welcome to the new official Nexus Skirmisher message board!

The closing of the official Nexus website and the corresponding forum was indeed a sad event, which left the remaining Nexus players without a distinct place to discuss, ask questions and coordinate modding efforts. Although I haven't been an active part of the community for years now, I'm still seeing a few hundred downloads of my little mission creator "Nexus Skirmisher" every month, so why not use this considerate amount of visitors to create an alternative to the lost official forums?

At the very least this message board will function as a universal support platform for the "Nexus Skirmisher" and everyone who wishes to use it. I've gotten quite a few emails over the years and wasn't really able to answer all of them. Some questions were pretty common and I'll try answering these in a more orderly fashion using this board now. So if you've got a problem with my (sadly somewhat bugged) tool, then please take the time to register and post your question here. After all, that's the purpose of this place.

Oh... and enjoy your stay, while you're here, of course ;)

Would like to thank you Arparso for setting up this forum.
I bought the game when it came out. Had high expectations but was a bit
let down. Too many missed opportunities I thought. But I accepted that it
is the game that we had been given. A starship tactical simulator.
I was never able to finish the game. But even though I uninstalled it
many times I came back to it. Something keeps me coming back.

Of course I downloaded the Skirmisher. Such a great addition to this
beautiful game. There should have been such a fonction in the game.

One part of the game that I love is of course the Starmap. But what a pity,
we can't interact with it and what's more frustrating we don't have access to it
during a mission. Would love to switch back to the starmap and have a tactical view
of the playgrounds.

Hoping to learn more

Denis

Hi guys, I'm a great fan of this game, I have been looking for a starship simulator for forever and finally found a great one! I bought this game years ago, but only got into it seriously now. Finished it a couple days ago. Have been looking everywhere for the Nexus community, unfortunately, the official site is down and it seemed that nobody played this game anymore... Until I found this board and others, related to it! Thank you guys for keeping this game alive! Thanks for all the great MODDING tutorials, I intend on starting out my own mod, never could've been possible without all the basic info!

By the way, I downloaded the Nexus Skirmisher (great program for newbies!) but when I try to launch my Nexus Skirmisher mod, it tells me to change CD and launch the game again... I tried with CD1 and CD2, everytime, it still asks me to change CD. Conusing?

You're welcome! :)

That's a pretty strange problem, though. The game always checks for your CD when starting up and my little mod is no different there. Usually it should work just fine. Does the normal singleplayer game start up successfully? If that's the case, I've got no clue, why my mod shouldn't...

If you're into modding, there's actually another board with slightly more active members and more modding-related content: forum.keyswow.com. You could check that out as well ;)

Hey, Arparso!

I doubt if you remember me, but I emailed you actually only a few months ago about the Nexus Skirmisher tool. You seemed unsure as to whether to continue the tool back then, and so imagine my surprise when I came here. I didn't think checking for any updates was worth it, but I'm glad to see there is a new small Nexus community out there. :D

Hi, Thorn! :)

Besides the forum, there really isn't much new stuff here. I'm just trying to gather some Nexus players again, mainly because of the downfall of the official site and forums. Now there's even a dedicated Nexus Wiki, which everyone can contribute to (it's still very much work-in-progress, though).

If you've got questions or suggestions, just leave a message here or at keyswow.com/forum. ;)
