Error when I open a mod.

(1/2) > >>

Monkeyshine:

I just got nexus, so my knowledge of it is very minimal. The mod I was using (Stargate: war begins) work perfectly when I installed it. I had nexus patched up to 1.01 and Skirmisher installed properly. It worked perfectly untill I tried to add a mission from Nexus Skirmisher, since then I have not been able to get it to work.

Upon start up of the mod, it will open to a black page followed by a "Ding". Then I receive the following error:

"File: universe\ mod_missions\ 1_skirmisher_mission .mission
Line:1

MISSION >>>1<<<

Description: Mission already defined.

(Press OK to quit)"

I have reinstalled nexus, the skirmisher, and the mod several times over. I have been very careful to delete every trace of anything nexus/mod related. Does anyone have a clue how to fix this problem? I'm completely stumped.

Thanks in advance- Cole

DreamorCZ:
As X4VI3R has already told you, you can't have same mission number for different missions and delete all missions with same mission number in you mission folder.

Also you can download patch for skirmisher (http://arparso.de/nexus/forum/index.php/topic,91.0.html) with which you will not need to number your missions anymore.

Arparso:
Right. Nexus complains about (at least) two missions having the same number, which is more or less a Skirmisher issue. Sorry about that. :( There is a experimental fixed version of the Skirmisher with that issue fixed in the thread linked to by DreamorCZ, more specifically in this post:
http://arparso.de/nexus/forum/index.php/topic,91.msg794.html#msg794

In order to get the game into working condition again, you'll still need to find the offending missions (or just delete and reinstall Stargate mod), so have a look at Stargate's mod folder in:
universe\mod_missions

Open up each .mission file and look at the top of the file for "MISSION X", where X is a number. If you find two missions with the same number, delete one of these two .mission files or change the number of one of them. Nexus should then be able to start the mod again.

Alternatively, just uninstall the mod (delete the mod's folder) and reinstall. When creating new missions, use the fixed Skirmisher EXE.

(I added the patch to the downloads page now, so you can grab it there, too)

WTFB00M:
Hello, i have the same error with the Battlestar galactica 4.1 mod... I have deleted all mod_missions but i have the error

Sry for my english. Im german ;)

The Old Dragon:
Hi there WTFBOOM,

The first thing that comes to mind is that the game has decided to save your mission files in an alternative location, do a quick search of your pc to find where they are.

Not sure what's causing your CTD's though, sorry.
